ARTIST STATEMENT

«At the intersection of photo journalism and art photography, I am shooting a mixture of essay, portraiture and fine art.»

Intrigued by images of Diane Arbus, Robert Frank and also Martin Parrs oblique approach to social documentary, I began to dedicate myself to portraiture photography in the early 2000s. I photographed people at society events, costume balls or the circus, as well as people I encountered during travels and stays in Germany, France and Ireland. Living abroad and the close observation of different cultures and environments have shaped a dialectic heterogeneity in my imagery, where a strong sense of character and personality have become my manifest.
